FAQ
How does mobile teeth whitening work?
Our mobile teeth whitening service brings professional care directly to your location. A licensed dental professional from Alpenglow Teeth Whitening will arrive fully equipped with all necessary tools and products. We’ll set up a clean, comfortable, and hygienic treatment area, allowing you to enjoy a high-quality whitening experience in the comfort of your own space, whether at home, work, or on-site for an event.
Can I whiten my teeth if I have dental work (crowns, veneers, fillings)?
Teeth whitening will not change the color of restorations like crowns or veneers. It only works on natural enamel. However it WILL remove surface stain from the restoration. We’ll discuss how to best match your whitening treatment to your existing dental work.
What if I have sensitive teeth? Can I whiten?
Yes, you can still whiten your teeth if you have sensitivity, but we do recommend a gentler approach. If you’re prone to sensitivity, let us know in advance so we can tailor the treatment for your comfort—this may include lower-concentration gel, or using a desensitizing product beforehand. We also provide a take-home desensitizing paste to help minimize any post-treatment discomfort. Your safety and comfort are always our priority.
What should I avoid after whitening, and why?
For 24–48 hours after your session, avoid staining foods and drinks like coffee, red wine, berries, and tobacco.
During whitening, pores in your enamel open to let the hydrogen peroxide lift stains. These pores stay open for several hours, making your teeth more prone to re-staining. Even after the session, the whitening gel continues working beneath the surface, breaking down deeper discoloration.
Stick to a “white diet” (light-colored foods and drinks) during this time to protect and extend your results.
How long do the results last?
The results of teeth whitening can typically last anywhere from a few months up to a years. However, we generally recommend touch-up treatments every 3 to 6 months, depending on factors like your at-home oral care, diet, lifestyle habits (such as coffee, wine, or tobacco use), and the condition of your enamel. Regular maintenance can help you keep your smile bright and long-lasting
Are there any risks or side effects?
Teeth whitening is generally very safe. Some clients may experience mild, temporary tooth sensitivity or gum irritation. To minimize these effects, we use high-quality, dental-grade products and follow strict safety protocols. Your comfort and safety are always our top priority.
How long does a teeth whitening session take?
A full mobile whitening session typically takes about 60 minutes from start to finish. We begin by isolating your gums and soft tissues to protect them during the treatment. Whitening gel is then applied to your teeth and activated under a specialized light for 20 minutes. This process is repeated once more for optimal results. After the two 20-minute sessions, you’ll rinse, and we’ll provide you with a disposable whitening tray for next-day use, along with a whitening toothpaste to help maintain your results.
